The barrier is made of a double wall of trunks piled one on top of another (diameter 10 cm) and opportunely "tied-in" by an internal ¡ayer of earth 20 cm thick. The specific weight of the wood used ( pine) is approximately 800 kg/m3.
Externally lodges for plants to be inserted have
been created by hollowing directly into the wood.
Such "windows" have been created in a chequer-board pattern,
so as to characterise the barrier with a particular architectonic arrangement
of the greenery.
The greenery is planted in leaf mould in correspondence with the openings, therefore allowing its normal growth and so favouring the subsequent "drooping" along the barrier itself.
The right amount of humidity is guaranteed by an apposite internal irrigation system by means of drip flaps situated at the top of the barrier.
The barrier is made of "modules" each being 1,50 m high, overlappable in order to reach the desired height.
The total thickness of the barrier is about 50 cm.
Due to the composition and the nature of the materials with which the product is created, the Unseasoned Wood barrier proves to be doted with characteristics which will be long-lasting also as regards acoustic, mechanical and statistical performance.
Thanks to the presence of the vegetation, this barrier is able to perfectly integrate with the environment and the countryside, and so carrying out, at the same time the function of improving the quality of the air by means of the chemical process of photosythesis.
All products permit good levels of acoustic isolation/absorption, by means of a careful and punctual evaluation of the environmental conditions and a relative choice of the most suitable materials.
